I grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY with two parents and one brother, Tim, who is older. It wasn't the most glamerous childhood, but my brother and I found a love of sports and made it our favorite passtime.
In 1997, ten years old, I was hit by a car and ultimately given a death sentence by the doctors tending to me. Having been wrong, I waited in a coma for two months to begin a stay of another eight months in a rehab far from home. When I got to the facility I had no speech, no arms and no legs that served me and I really was a shell of the little boy I was.
Long story short, through my love of sports as a boy, I fought my rear-end off in rehab to get extremly limited movement back in my arms and legs, I need help with most everything I do, but I earned the right to feed myself and it feels damn good.
I lost sports phsyically, but I never lost my love. I translated my phsyicall abilities into words and so I offer you this book, my life.
